Run for the Toad this weekend!!

This weekend we have the "Run for the Toad" happening at Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area, just outside of Cambridge. Yes, it has sold out, and a LONG time ago at that... even though Peggy and George (the race directors) raised the participant capacity by two-hundred people or so. But even if you didn't make it under the wire, dear friends, this event is still something you should really check out - starting tomorrow (Friday) at noon, the tent-city expo opens up (as does race kit pick up).

Next "Let's Start Running" slated to begin Monday, September 14th!!

Contrary to what it says in our recenty-delivered flyer (which I also wrote... like an idiot), our next "Let's Start Running" group begins on Monday, September 14th, NOT the 7th... which is, in fact, Labour Day. We're not even OPEN that day. But anyhoo - there you have it!! Come out and join us on the 14th for this free beginners' run group and build yourself up gradually towards a consistent and maintainable run!! It's a run-walk format, you see: at first you start out "running" for a minute, then walking for a minute, then "running" for a minute, walking for a minute and so on.

I've got news. BIG news. Better sit down. Ready? Here it is: the next marathon clinic is starting!! WAHOO!! So, SO sorry it's taken so long for us to get things finalized, but it's all figured out and ready to be shared. Terribly short notice, I realize. It's going to begin informally this Sunday (July 12) with a pleasant little meet-and-greet with our new coach, Ms. Rachel Masser (who is, it must be noted, a very quick and accomplished marathoner herself). We will be collecting (gently) used running shoes for the next week and at our tent at the Waterloo Classic on June 21st. They will be sent to runners in Ethiopia, so bring out all the old runners that are cluttering your closet and donate them to a good cause!!
